چکیده

Class 1 hydrate reservoirs are regarded as the most promising targets for gas production. Previous investigations in northern South China Sea have proven that low-permeability reservoir at site GMGS3-W19 is a deposit. However, dynamic production behaviors of this type not yet fully understood. Here, we report recovery from containing underlying free layers with different initial saturations and investigate effects absolute permeability depressurization pressure on performance. The results show high saturation layer low bottom-hole advantageous enhancing anisotropic isotropic different. For long-term any saturation, higher horizontal (permeability anisotropy more than 10) remarkably beneficial to stimulate extraction decrease amount produced water replenished by inflows permeable overlying sediments. Moreover, rate highly consistent dissociation ratio, one main factors affecting performance, permeabilities. larger 5, can form secondary hydrates. increment formation negatively influences ratio recovery. Thus, it also significant weigh during progress. These findings contribute estimating efficiency optimizing process similar areas.

Benthic fluxes of dissolved organic carbon from gas hydrate sediments in the northern South China Sea

Hydrocarbon vents have recently been reported to contribute considerable amounts of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) to the oceans. Many such hydrocarbon vents widely exist in the northern South China Sea (NSCS). To investigate if these hydrocarbon vent sites release DOC, we used a real-time video multiple-corer to collect bottom seawater and surface sediments at vent sites. We analyzed concentra...

Evaluation of Gas Production from Marine Hydrate Deposits at the GMGS2-Site 8, Pearl River Mouth Basin, South China Sea

Natural gas hydrate accumulations were confirmed in the Dongsha Area of the South China Sea by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey 2 (GMGS2) scientific drilling expedition in 2013. The drilling sites of GMGS2-01, -04, -05, -07, -08, -09, -11, -12, and -16 verified the existence of a hydrate-bearing layer. In this work gas production behavior was evaluated at GMGS2-8 by numerical simulation. ...

Methane Hydrate Formation in Marine Sediment from South China Sea with Different Water Saturations

The kinetics of methane hydrate formation in marine sediments with different water saturations are important to assess the feasibility of the hydrate production and understand the process of the secondary hydrate formation in the gas production from hydrate reservoir. In this paper, the behaviors of methane hydrate formation in marine sediments from the South China Sea at different water satura...

Effects of Impermeable Boundaries on Gas Production from Hydrate Accumulations in the Shenhu Area of the South China Sea

Based on currently available data from site measurements and the preliminary estimates of the gas production potential from the hydrate accumulations at the SH7 site in the Shenhu Area using the depressurization method with a single horizontal well placed in the middle of the Hydrate-Bearing Layer (HBL), the dependence of production performance on the permeabilities of the overburden (OB) and u...
